VTU Formula — (CGPA - 0.75) × 10
Visvesvaraya Technological University uses this formula for engineering students. A CGPA of 8.5 converts to (8.5 - 0.75) × 10 = 77.5%. This formula is slightly conservative compared to the standard method.
Anna University — CGPA × 10
Anna University and many affiliated colleges use a direct multiplication: CGPA × 10. An 8.0 CGPA equals exactly 80%. This is the most generous conversion among major Indian universities.
Mumbai University — (CGPA × 7.1) + 11
University of Mumbai uses this unique linear formula. A CGPA of 7.0 converts to (7.0 × 7.1) + 11 = 60.7%. Always verify with your specific college as Mumbai University has updated formulas across different faculties.
